Start zee engines! Rumor has it that ex-fighter pilot Yves "Jetman" Rossy had no choice but to design this amazing jetpack because his balls of steel were too heavy for skydiving. Ok, maybe not. But he has made history: he set the world record as the first person in a jet-powered wing to successfully cross the English Channel, flying 22 miles in under 10 minutes and reaching speeds of 186 mph (299 km/h). Wile E. Coyote's got nothing on Yves "Jet Man" Rossy.
