A freefalling car is very unpredictable, so the team put a lot of prep work into making this stunt as safe as possible. They customized two cars for the stunt by removing the drivetrain, all the fluids, stripped off the roof and anything else that could've been an issue in freefall, including a panel on the underbody to try to make the car more aerodynamic in the sky.
